Hymen, p. 154, J . « J. — Medius, niger, punctatus, nigro-pilosus; clypeo rufo-aureo­barbato, fronte inter antennas subtuberculata ; abdominis segmentis supra subtusque anguste albido-íimbriatis ; alis-hyalinis. Caput nigrum, dense tenuiterque punctatum, facie utrinque fron­teque albido-pubescentibus ; faciei inter antennas tuberculum male defi­nitum, subtriangulare, medio carinulatum, infra transverse subcarinato­truncatum ; clypeus punctato-rugulosulus, medio carinatus, antici rufo­aureo-barbatus ; mandibulae validae, obtuse bidentatae, nigrae, nitidae, baseos fossula triangulari opaca; antennae nigrae, subtus rufescentes. Thorax, niger, nigricanti-pilosus, mesonoti rugulosi linea media impressa longitudinali, ante centrum terminata. Abdomen nigrum, nigro-pubescens, subnudum, segmentorum marginibus apicalibus 1—3 subelevatis, fusco­rufescenti-decoloribus, 1—5 anguste albo-limbriatis, ano dense nigro­piloso ; segmentorum ventralium pili longi densi subsetosi, marginibus apicalibus anguste albido-fimbriatis. Pedes nigri, nigro-pilosi, metatarsis, posticis praesertim, elongatis, nigro-hirtis, tarsis rufis, subnudis. Alae hyalinae, venis fuscis; tegulae nigrae. Long. 13—15 mm, alae 9—10 mm. 2 J Taïti (Hawai Ins.).» Mir liegt ein J von Upolu (Samoa-Inseln) vor. 62. Lithurgus cognatus SM. 1868. — Lithurgus cognatus 9 SMITH Trans. Entom. Soc. London p. 255. « J . — Black, with ferruginous pubescence on the apical segment of the abdomen. Head rather wider than the thorax, closely punctured ; the face covered with white pubescence, that on the cheeks is of the same colour, but longer and more sparing ; the face with a transverse bituberculate elevation at the base of the clypeus ; an elevated ridge on each side of the central tubercle, curving down to the base of the man­dibles; the mandibles short, stout and bidentate ; the flagellum of the antennae obscurely fulvous beneath ; the labrum of a broad lanceolate form and fringed with ferruginous hair. Thorax ; the pubescense pale cinerous, that on the femora and tibiae is of the same colour, that on the tarsi dark brown ; on the basal joint of the posterior tarsi within, it is tinged with ferruginous; the posterior tibiae outside are roughened with a multitude of short stout teeth or spines ; wings hyaline, tbeir nervures black.
