we remain partially open throughout the winter The Skanzen is also a wonderful social space. The Museum aims to have an active role in forming society besides interpreting history. For decades, education has been one of the foundationstones of the museums work. Hundreds of schools, thousands of students, hundreds of teachers visit the site and the Klára Csilléry Educational Centre every year to learn about peasant life; to follow our environmental study trail, to study life in villages of the last century; to learn about the Hungarian language environmentally friendly utilisation of waste. Anyone can join in the traditional crafts programmes and musical or dance performances which are both entertaining and senre as means of self-expression. Community life and cohesion between generations is strengthened by the revival of village and family festivals. Our programme of seasonal events such as Easter; Whitsuntide Games, Architecture Days, The Holiday of the Soil, Harvesting the grapes, St. Martin Festival of the New Wine and Goose Feast attract thousands of visitors every year As our visitors are not deterred by the cold 22
