The Living Museum

The Museum places great stress on lifelong learning and our educational activities are not meant solely for schools and schoolage students. The family was the main source of learning in traditional village communities. Knowledge about the environment, values and behaviour patterns were passed on from father to son, from generation to generation in all spheres of private and communal life. Today the pace of life and the breakdown of communities threaten the family's role. The Skanzen sees it as part of its mission to maintain, strengthen and propagate learning in a family as a cultural model. The returning and literature through a lesson in the Kondorfa School, to draw during our Creative Day, or undertake one of the many handicraft training sessions and even take part in physical education in the Village 'Olympics'. events at the weekend offer a great experience mostly for families.
