of Kisalföld having played an important role in the local economy and the international fodder trade. The book also studies the wine-pressing buildings and cellars of the wine-hills as well as the buildings of the scattered settlements which moved to the wine-hills in the 17-18

th centuries. In the summary the author tries to locate the architectural culture of the Kisalföld with the help of the available scanty archaeological sources. He draws up the determining sociocultural motives and economic sources of the development of the whole region. At the same time, with the help of studying the relations with the neighbouring peoples he refers to the broader Central European interrelations, which is even more topical, since the great European summaries were drawn up without including the relevant Hungarian material. The volume is made complete with a comprehensive list of the relevant literature.
