KESZEG VILMOS: A „mai nap" mint rítus és mítosz

VILMOS KESZEG "This day" as ritual and myth The essay attampts to interpret the verbal expression "this day" as a kind of ritual and myth as well. It will be shown that it can be effectively used for the articulation of time, the constitution of events' coherence. Otherwise it resembles myths in unpacking and validating bundled contents. The author's interpretation closely follows Herman Bausinger's concept concerning parallel times while focusing at individual behavior and the joint emergence of relevance and redundance. Analysing the rituals of "this day" during which the role these rituals play in representing, maintaning and regenerating the social sphere (relationships and roles) is emphasised, the conceptual framework will closely resemble Maurice Bloch's methaphor about the "past and present in the now".
