Oxford: James Currey. (Előkészületben.) Orientál studies and anthropology Ildikó Bellér-Hann studied Turkish, English and Archaeology in Budapest 1975-1981. She took her PhD degree at the University of Cambridge in I 989. She did fieldwork among the Laz in Northeast Turkey and the Uyghur in Xinjiang, Northwest China and in Kazakhstan in the I 990s concentrating on the relationship between identity, economy and the State. In her research she tries to combine text-centred methods with anthropological ones. In this interview she speaks about her investiga­tions, ethnicity and recent trends in orientál studies.
