regard to the physical appearance of the nudes and the drawing of the horses. Pechán expressed the bliss of vic­tory in light colour gestures and symbols. By doing so he moved on to the more direct expression of Activism. His art theories manifested themselves not only in his paintings, but were also published in his writings. In 1914 he planned to start an artist colony in Palics sim­ilarly to Nagybánya, Kecskemét, Szolnok and Gödöllő. In addition to painting, the artists would have worked for the development of local handicrafts. Unfortunately, World War One put an end to these plans. Following the outbreak of the war, he moved back to Verbász. He was mobilized in 1915, but fell ill and was discharged. Following the war, he lived in total isolation as a mem­ber of the Hungarian minority. Just as he was planning to emigrate to the United States, he died of heart failure.
