r . Exhibition ot lato Gothic winged altarpieces in the tonner throne-room of the Royal Palace of Buda Throne-room Visitors can view early 16th century winged altarpieces here. With the high-rising late Gothic winged altarpieces the former throne-room of the palace gives the illusion of a church interior. The right aisle of the throneroom is almost like an aisle in a church. This impression is enhanced by the early 16th century corpse of Christ with the thieves from Szepcsbcla placed high up. as if on the rood beam. Similar groups ol statties complemented with the figures of the Virgin and St John the Evangelist are usually placed on the rood arch separating the nave from the sanctuary. The altarpiece of the Annunciation from Kisszeben ( 1515-20) is in the axis of the room. Its carvings are in keeping with the style of the most influential sculptor of Upper Hungary, Master Paulus of Lőcse and his workshop.
