SUMMARY KUT. Artists' New Society 1924-1934 Selection from the Collections of Drawings and Sculpture of the Hungarian National Gallery The official history of the KUT (i.e. Artists' New Society) began with its establishment in 1924 and ended with its dissolution in 1950. This present chamberexhibition however does not undertake more than to illustrate a decade from the comprehensive history of this long inter-war period - in the surface of aquarelles, temperas, pastels and sculptures. The exhibiton selects from the works of art, made between 1924-1934, which contains the period under János Vaszary's leadership from the establishment till 1926, then the era of art director Miklós Rózsa between 1926-1932. 1934 represents a possible limit point when a young generation joined forces with the foundation members to guarantee the renewal of the company further on. The foundation members of this newly formed company - Fülöp Ö. Beck, Géza Bornemisza, Dezső Czigány, József Egry, János Kmetty, Lajos Kozma, Ödön Márffy, Ferenc Medgyessy, Vilmos Perlrott Csaba, József Rippl-Rónai, Imre Szobotka, István Szőnyi, János Vaszary and Márk Vedres represented various progressive principal trends.
