I. THE COMPREHENSIVE REWIEV OF THE DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING - 9. Data publication

9. Data publication a/A BRIEF SURVEY OF THE PUBLICATIONS The preliminary results of the census - on the basis of the general files of the districts and st the recapitulations of the communities - have been published in the 1 volume of the series. Since considerable changes on the administrative division took place during the half year period since the theoretical census moment, the preliminary data have been published duly regrouped in the volume st 1/a, complying with the status of the 1 July 1970. In addition to the main summary data, the publications contain the data concerning the region, the number of the inhabitants and the living density as well as the main data concerning the dwelling situation by communities. They also display the breakdown according to downtown and outskirts' areas. The 2 n C* volume of the series published, on the basis of the sample of 1 per cent represent ativity, is a collection entitled "Detailed data", in which the most important data concerning population, occupation, families and households in nation-wide and county-wide breakdown are shown. The census of 1970 has published in separate volume, similarly to 1960, the detailed data concerning the population, occupation, families and households by regional units, i.e. by counties, county towns and Budapest. As opposed to the practice followed in 1960, the volumes also contain the survey results of the flats which took place simultaneously with the census. It was the first opportunity in the history of the censuses held in Hungary that data concerning the smallest units of the census, i.e. the census districts have been puslished, by counties, county towns and Budapest. The full-scale results are to be found in the volumes containing nation-wide data. b/ VOLUMES SHOWING COUNTY DA TA The series of the volumes showing county data - including the volume dealing with Budapest consist of 45 volumes as opposed to the 20 volumes of 1960. While at that time, of each counties a single volume was published, in 19 70 two volumes were of each, one volume of each county town and three volumes concerning Budapest were published. From among the county volumes, the first is divided to four parts. The chapter dealing with the "Summary data" looks back on the field from 1930 on, on the several towns and the totals of 86
