I. THE COMPREHENSIVE REWIEV OF THE DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING - 9. Data publication
the communities from 1949 on. In the chapter entitled "County data" the disaggregated data are to be found as to the whole territory of the county. The third chapter comprises the data of the towns, while the fourth presents series referring to the communities. The latter volume is completed by a chapter surveying the notions applied. The volumes of the county towns display in a breakdown by districts the same data which were published by communities in the county volumes. The summary data show the data referring to to towns having county rank on the one hand, and the summary results of the town and the county, on the other. The last three volumes of the regional communication series concerned the respective data of Budapest. The volume was published on the centenary of the capital (1973) which had been administratively united of three separate towns (Pest, Buda and Ohuda) a century ago. The volume differs from those of the county towns, since it also comprises retrospective series as well as combination tables concerning the resident population. The first volume gives information of Budapest as a whole; the second refers to the districts, while the third comprises the data of the census districts of Budapest. C/ THE PUBLICATION OF THE DATA CONCERNING THE CENSUS DISTRICTS On the purpose to the activities connected with the planning and development of the settlements, the census of 1970 has published - at first time in the history of the censuses - a sound disaggregate data basis comprising the results of each census district. The respective data including those of the outskirts' areas are to be found in the county volumes marked with "a". These volumes give, according to the smallest regional units, i. e. broken down by census districts, the most needful information concerning the population, occupation, households, families and dwellings. The data are disaggregated, in the case of the communities, in the following division: central downtown areas, other downtown areas, outskirts to be developed and other outskirts. As far as the towns are concerned, they show separate data for the sub-districts and the districts of town planning too; or in towns having county rank, according to districts. d/ THE PUBLICATION OF THE DEMOGRAPHIC DATA rd The publication entitled "Demographic data 1. 1 1 (the 23 volume of the series) gives information as to the development, reproduction, distribution of the population according to sex and age, age groups, family status, educational level, mother tongue as well as to the aspects of its fertility. The volume presents the nation-wide data In details, in a number of combinations, while am far as the county-wide data are concerned, only a survey of their main aspects is given. In addition to the information concerning the "present" population, the publication of 1970 also reported on the permanent and the resident population. 87
