Besides showing anatomical characteristics, the article attempts to collect together information (e.g. different names, geobotanic data, growth characteristics, descriptions of areas investigated using dendrochronology, more important techni cal characteristics, fields of use) which can assist restoration teaching and restoration work, as well as research into art history.
