Dr. Péter Balázs: Guide to the archives of Hungary (Budapest, 1976)
A Szarvasi Evangélikus Gyülekezet Levéltára (Archives of the Szarvas Evangelical Congregation)
Guide. From the 100 years between the two dates, alas, only a few records have remained, only the number of the so-called household books has increased. The organisation of the congregation changed in 1953, as it was divided into those of the Old Church and the New. The archival material of the Szarvas - New Church congregation makes up an archival subgroup. The archival material totals 34 running metres. The records of the minister's office (1734-1972) contain the registers, the journals of congregation sittings and the administrative records. Among the records of the warden's office there are the account books of the congregation from 1763 on. The records of the Luther orphanage of the congregation (1917-1962), the Widows and Orphans Aid Association (1890-1946) and the Protestant Women's Association (1921-1948) are also in archival custody. The personal papers are in a special collection. The use of the archival material is helped by the manuscript Guide. Research is possible from 9 a.m. to noon on workdays. Pál KOVÁCS
