HALLO WELL R.R. 1, Box 55 Proctorsville, Vt. 05153 ( 53) E UHTE Hajósok — vastag bőrrel Először is vettek negyvenkét ökröt. This 'universal' car revolutionized an entire generation's way of life and unquestionably contributed more than any other automobile to the history of motoring transportation. In its day, it commanded an honest respect for the services it performed. In our day, it commands a place of honor in our museums and private collections of antique-automobiles. GOLDEN JUBILEE COLLECTOR'S ETCHINGS Internationally known and respected artist Cynthia Knapton, calling upon her 25 years of printmaking experience, has captured a nearly forgotten automotive era with its warm recollections, fond memories and pride and joy of ownership in her new suite of collector's limited edition etchings. Spanning the entire 19 year life of the Model T from October, 1908 to June, 1927, these delightful and authentic Golden Jubilee prints are offered to those inter- print every two months thereafter. Cynthia will personally approve, hand sign and date each print since works of art bearing the personal signature of the artist are much sought after by experienced collectors. Each print will be custom framed in a handsome black and gold wood frame with black outlined white linen mat. CERTIFICATE OF TITLE AND AUTHENTICITY Each subscriber will receive a duly executed Certificate of Authenticity and Title issued by The Graphics Society which will authenticate each etching as a genuine original print. Each subscriber will also receive a sample copy of Galaxy's GRAPHICS magazine of original prints containing background and descriptive information on the Modal TGolden Jubilee Suite of Original Etchings. AVAILABLE BY ADVANCE SUBSCRIPTION ONLY To subscribe, simply fill in the Advance Subscription Application and mail to Galaxy or call 603-465-2400 before April 16, 1977. Price of each etching is $65 including custom framing and U.S. shipment. Remember — you mutt have your application postmarked before midnight, April 16, 1977 to be accepted. Your first etching - 1909 Touring — will be shipped after the closing date in the tame order your subscription was received. The three additional etchings will be available approximately one You will receive ested in the Model T who never knew it intimately or, having known, forgot. We know you will cherish them as important additions to your fine art collection which will enrich your life as wall as the lives of future generations. The 1909 Touring — our first etching — featured a 22 HP angina, 40 mph speed, vanadium steel body, simple maintenance and a price of $850. The 1912 Torpedo - our second etching — was a racy modification of the popular Runabout — almost a sports car version in its day. The 1917 Coupe — our third etching — included several wartime compromises in styling and power but a price of only $380. The 1927 Sedan — our fourth etching — was better looking than ever but failed to find favor with the more sophisticated buyers of the flapper era. So Henry Ford grudgingly ordered the Model T production line — originally started in October, 1908 - shut down In June, 1927. Thus ended the era of the 'Tin Lizzie'. A STRICTLY LIMITED EDITION The total number of prints to be pulled will exactly equal the number of Advance Subscriptions received by April 16, 1977 plus one Bon a Tlrer, one Artist Proof, two Printer's Proofs and one Publisher's Proof. Thereafter, the plates will be defaced and a Cancellation Proof pulled. ORIGINAL PRINTS IN THE EARLIEST TRADITIONS In creating the master copper plates for these etchings, Cynthia used the time honored methods of the 17th century masters. Painstaking and time consuming, these early techniques employ traditional formulas, tools and equipment that impart great visual depth and minute detail to the finished print. Using her pencil sketch as a guide, she scribed the image with a sharp etching needle on to a copper plate coated with a wax ground. With this ancient but still relevant 17th century method, s wealth of tone end texture is gradually built up on the plate using lines end tiny dots. The scribed plate is immersed in s slow acting acid solution where the exposed lines ere bitten by the acid end etched into the copper. Each individual etching is hand printed by the Intaglio method. For each impression, Ink is hand rubbed into the etched grooves of the plate, surface ink is removed end the plate is skillfully hand wiped and polished until the image Is sharp and complete information as each is ready and you will have fifteen days in which to respond if you wish. 1912 Torpedo 22 x 25 in.
