Short communications

András MÁLNÁST dedicated to macromycetes; and to the Mycological Society witg center in Sf. Gheorghe (LKG), whose president was and still is prof. univ. Zsigmond Győző. The society’s main preoccupations are: scientific research in the field of mushrooms, education of the population regarding mushrooms, use of mushrooms in alimentation, due to their healthy nutritional value, development and practice of activities concerning the prevention of mushroom intoxications. In order to accomplish our objectives, we organize a series of exhibitions with fresh edible and poisonous mushrooms, conferences, camps, trips into the nature. We collaborate with other similar associations in Romania and abroad; with state institutions and other civil organizations. Every month we organize a trip where we invite people from outside our society. The trip ends with an exhibition of freshly picked mushrooms, specifying their edibility or toxicity. Eighteen of our members attended courses and trainings in this topic until today. Ten of them also obtained a qualification in mushroom controlling. All the examiners were mushroom specialists from the Universities of Bucharest, Ia?i, Budapest and Kaposvár (Fig. 1). We participate on a yearly basis in camps, symposiums, national and international mycological conferences. We participated at the symposiums in Sibiu, Sinaia, Oituz, Comandäu, Cämpul Cetätii, Ghime? Füget, Särätel, Rimetea, Rästolita, Borsec, Madaradul de Cämpie. At the symposium in Arcu? in 2010 we gathered and identified a number of 275 species of mushrooms. We established a cooperation with the Zoo in Tärgu-Mure?. We represent on a panel the specific mushrooms of each season. We also illustrate on the panel the Amanita phalloides (death cap) the most poisonous mushroom. We also organize exhibitions with freshly picked mushrooms from the area of Corne?ti. We work on Mycological maps from different tourist-areas of Mure? County. Each year we participate in the Fair of non-governmental organisations in Tärgu-Mure? with exhibits, flyers and information about mushroom for those interested. In 2010 we organized an exhibition without precedent in Romania with artistic pictures of mushrooms taken on their growing spots. The best pictures were awarded by our sponsors with diplomas, baskets full of mushrooms and other objects. This material was exhibited with the occasion of the International Mycological Camp in Arcu?, as well. A part of the photographs were temporarily exhibited in the Natural Sciences Museum as well as in the Zoo of the city within the scope of a didactic program. At present, a part of the pictures are exhibited in a gallery in Oradea. On the request of the Corvin Publishing House in Deva I read the manuscript of the “Gombák” (“Mushrooms”) book for the publisher. It appeared in 2010 and it contains the description of more than 200 species of mushrooms. I also provided the majority of the photographs for the book. In less than two weeks almost all of the copies were sold. We plan the publishing of a second edition, enlarged, in 2011 and also the publishing of a calendar that will come out at the beginning of December this year. We participate in the pedagogical program of the museum “Cu pa?i märunti prin muzeu” initiated by the Tárgu-Mure? Natural Sciences Museum. We collaborate to edit our review and annuary: “Moeszia. Erdélyi Gombász” (six numbers published from 2003). The 30/2006 law, republished in 2008, containing rules of public health concerning mushroom use from the natural flora establishes rules about transport, gathering, processing and commercialization of mushrooms. More specifically, it sets out how the marketing of mushrooms from the spontaneous flora in retail markets; a total of 35 species of fungi that can be sold; fines for breaking the law; the obligations of the seller and inspector to check the merchandise, but 184
