YOU ARE WELCOME After the voting disaster about dual citizenship for Hungarians outside the borders, a town of 50,000 population, Hódmezővásárhely, stepped in to solve the problem. It is offering Honorary Citizenship to all ethnic Hungarians living abroad. The Deputy Mayor of the town, Peter Koszo, said that his town decided to grant the civic honor to one third of the Hungarian nation, living as ethnic communities in other countries, numbering five million. Deputy Mayor Koszo said that the town is receiving one hundred applications every day for citizenship, and it seems like this number will be growing by the day. As soon as people receive the news there will be an influx. He also said: “We are building the biggest Hungarian city in virtual terms. This will happen with some limitation, because the Honorary citizens will not have the right to vote in Hungary.” Hódmezővásárhely is located in the southern part of the Great Plains, near the Tisza river, and only fifteen miles north-east of Szeged.________________________ We are showing two photos of Hódmezővásárhely.
