March 5th 2005. Organized by the Pannónia American Hungarian Club, the 52nd annual "Café Budapest" Ball was held at the Long Shore Inn Country Club, Westport, Connecticut. As it is a tradition now, Master of ceremonies Dr. Balázs Somogyi introduced the President of The Pannónia Club Ms. Judit Balogh , after her greetings of the attendees the Chairlady of the ball Miss Tünde Miklós graciously opened the ball. This year once again we had beautiful young couples performing the debutante's first waltz of the evening, this time in Mrs. Erika Bodák's arrangement. The Debutantes were: Chelsea Craig, Kari Felsovalyi, Olga Felsovalyi, Csilla Greiner, Katalin Gyulassy, Kinga Kertész, Gabriella Takacs, and Ella Vaci. Music was provided by the familiar Continental Orchestra, and the repertoire included music from all the well known old time favorites, from "Szécsi Pali" to the Beatles, and of course a few Csardas here and there. After dinner the dance floor was busy all the way till the end of the ball. - H'ja we Hungarians, know how to have a good time! During the evening people were strolling by the Silent Auction tables, where this year we had plenty of wonderful items to bid on. From books about Hungary and Hungarian traditions, to the very best Hungarian food and "bottled goods", cosmetics gift baskets and beauty services offered up by the friends and members of the Pannónia Club. At the end those who walked away with the prizes could be very well pleased by their purchase, and of course all the raised funds contributed to the success of the ball what is the single most important fundraiser of the "Pannónia". Thanks again for all those who helped our event by attending and/or offering their donations. Your contributions are greatly appreciated. We hope to see you again next year! But before that, there is also the summer dance " Hosszú forro nyar" what became our latest annual event in July since a couple summers ago. This event on Fairfield's Penfield Beach is also a great dinner with traditional Page 6 Ball Chairlady Tünde Miklós with her father József Hungarian cooking by the members of the Pannónia Club.
