MAGYAR STUDIES OF AMERICA Celebrating Twentyfive Years of Success In addition to teaching Hungarian to stu­dents of all ages, highlighted below are some of the many other accomplishments: • aid to Hungarian refugees • establishing a Hungarian lending library • participated in four different radio pro grams • shipping books to Hungary • participated in the production of the fdm Searching for Wordin Avenue • provided aid to Hungarians who live in regions that were once part of Hungary One might wonder what continues to draw people to this program. Well, the reasons are as many as the stars shining upon Hungarians wherever they may be. The Magyar Studies of America, Inc. was formed in 1978 (with the aid of Attorney Joan I. Farcus) to pro­vide the greater Bridgeport/Fairfield com­munity with the tools necessary to meet the needs of the area for Hungarian language instruction and cultural awareness. The organization filled a vast need for social interaction of the Hungarian community. result of the commitment and enthusiasm of the teachers who willingly give their time; they have given assistance even after school hours when someone has requested it. Furthermore, students find the classes not at all inhibiting and willingly help each other. At times, laughter fills a room when someone has truly butchered a word beyond recognition!
