6. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ expressed thanks to the Chief Elder for a wonderful report. In the absence of our Classis Treasurer Mr. Andrew C. Lovász, the financial status of the Classis was read by Miss Priscilla Hunyady. Report was accepted and moved into the proper committee. Delegates at the meeting Dean Torok appointed the following committees: Recommendation and Financial Committees. A recess was ordered and the work of the committees followed. Balint Balogh, Chief Elder and Dean Stefan Torok Following the recess first the Recommendation committee reported to the assembly. All recommendation were accepted and the Dean was directed to communicate these recommendations in writing to the member congregations once they are written up by the secretaries. The Financial Committee also reported to the Assembly and all items of their recommendation was carried out. Dean Torok requested information on the passing of the elders from the various congregations. A memorial Service was held by the Rev. Barnabas Roczey and unitedly we offered our thanks to God for those lives by which we ourselves were touched in the service of the church and we asked God to give our faithful members the crown of eternal life. The Assembly gave an opportunity to our sister churches to announce their upcoming events and the Dean encouraged participation at them. As an official final act, the Dean inquired if there is any church that would like to extend an invitation to our next year’s assembly. Mr. Robert Csizma, Chief Elder of the Bethlehem Hungarian Evangelical Reformed Church indicated that they would be greatly honored with our presence next year. The Dean graciously accepted the invitation. The Assembly was invited to fellowship dinner offered by the host Church. Closing prayer and benediction was offered by the Rt. Rev. Alexander Forro, Bishop. SANCTUARY WITHIN Sanctuary is a sacred place, such as a church. A place of refuge. At times you may long for a fortified place, a sanctuary removed from current challenges and busyness. You do not have to go to a far away place. You have your own sanctuary. It is within yourself - an internal and very personal place of total silence. To each of us occasionally comes a deep longing to be alone, if only for just a short time. When circumstances and emotions seem to overpower us, we feel we must escape into a place of peace and calm to get a stronghold on ourselves and to overcome the pressures of life and from the lack of compassion that often seem to surround us. We often need to experience these things to give our best to the task at hand. God has provided us a place for us to go at any moment without abandoning our regular duties. Here we receive added strength, courage and wisdom. This place is an inner sanctuary of spirit in which we become aware of complete peace in the inner most part of our existence. In this place we can be alone with our thoughts and
