MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 11 Orthodox Churches in the U.S.A. and with the Lutheran Church in Canada. It recommended that the series of Lutheran-Reformed conversations in the United States be “considered terminated,” but that the churches be urged to approach each other, at every level of life, “through a fresh hearing of the Gospel declared in Holy Scripture, as well as in terms of their confessional and ecclesiastical traditions.” In his annual report to the North American Reformed and Presbyterian Churches, the Rev. Edmond Pcrret, general secretary of the World Alliance, told of his continued efforts to deal with the oppression of churchmen and church institutions in South Africa and Mozambique. He also called attention to the sufferings of people in Central Africa, North India, the Caribbean, South America, the Philippines who have been victims of natural catastrophes during 1974. Elected as officers of the North American Area Council for 1975 were the Rev. Arthur R. McKay, pastor of the Knox United Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, Ohio, as chairman. Continuing officers are Dr. McCord, general secretary; the Rev. William Klempa, Toronto, Canada, recording secretary; the Rev. Frank H. Heinze, New York City, director of information, and the Rev.
