10 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ similar to that of Transylvania in older times.” And he offered the net proceeds of his New Testament translation for the financial support of the cure of souls of Protestant Hungarians living dispersed all over the world. Hungarian Protestants in America paid tribute to this great church leader during the first days of September at the Bethlen Home, in Ligonier, at the national conference of elders and ministers of all the Hungarian Protestant Churches in the United States. László Ravasz is not with us any more. We shall keep his remembrance and with grateful hearts thank God for all the blessings and spiritual gifts He gave to this generation through the life and ministry of László Ravasz. Let us close this commemoration with his own words: “I know that we are responsible for our actions to history and to God. I await history’s verdict with my head raised, I bear God’s judgment prostrated, with the hope that He will be merciful to me, for the sake of Him who died for me, too, on the cross.” Gábor Csordás YOUTH CONFERENCE REPORT A total of 78 youth and 15 adults attended the annual Bethlen Youth Federation Conference which took place this past Labor Day weekend. This year’s conference, hosted by the Allen Park Christian Youth Fellowship was four days full of recreation, a spiritual joy, and most importantly, an undying love for Jesus Christ and our fellow Christians. Thursday began with registration, followed by a corn roast and sing along on the beach of lake Huron. A good part of Friday and Saturday afternoon was spent with our guest speaker, Douglas Knight, in lecture and discussion of our topic, “Prophecy.” In the evening, Mr. Knight’s singing group entertained us with their Gospel Music. The Saturday night Candlelight Service was probably the most impressive and most beautiful aspect of the whole conference. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.” So, by lighting each other’s candles we proceeded down a lighted path which led to a big cross shaped candle 6 ft. long and 5 ft. wide. The Sunday Sunrise Service took place promptly at 7 o’clock and was conducted by the youth of Allen Park. Becky Kaplar led us with a beautiful message concerning “love.” We all took part in the Holy Communion conducted by Bishop Dezső Abraham and Rev. Stefan Torok of Perth Amboy. The Business Meeting of the B.Y.F. took place Sunday afternoon where the new officers were elected and sworn in by the Rev. Kálmán Adorján. They are as follows: President, Becky Kaplar, Allen Park, Mich.; Vice Pres., Amy Clayton, Perth Amboy, N. J.; Secy., Barb Adorján, Youngstown, Ohio; Treas., Cathy Bercik, Perth Amboy, N. J. The Golden Age of Rock and Roll was revisited as the youth took part in a 50’s dance. But the evening was not over yet. Sheila Angalet. said a few words that touched the hearts of all and led us in the song entitled, “They’ll know we are Christians.” There is a portion of the lyrics which sums up the feeling of the conference in general, considering the love that flowed so freely and the love that we shared, and it says, “They’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love.” Christian Youth Fellowship Dawn Hodi Vice President Allen Park, Michigan Sept. 4, 1975 Officers of the Ministerial Association.
