After the long summer vacations our members are back in their homes, and in our church as well. Our Sunday School has started and is open for all those who are interested in the spiritual welfare of their children, and may I take the opportunity to call on you dear parents with the words of Jesus, “Let the little children come unto me, for theirs is the Kingdom of God.” Our church attendance has increased somewhat, but we still cannot say that it is satisfied. Our Youth Fellowship has also resumed this autumn. We hope for unity and cooperation, since the next year’s Bethlen Youth Conference will be hosted by our Group in conjunction with the Perth Amboy and Trenton groups. In this point we would like to mention that Miss Jeanette Bartha from our congregation was elected as Vice-president for the Bethlen Youth Federation at this past year’s conference hosted by the Akron Youth Fellowship. Congratulations and Good Luck. Our Women’s Guilds are also in full force with faithful service to our Church. The Women’s Guild just recently had a very successful cake sale, with the help of the “fánk” and “Csőröge” which was made by the Lorántffy Zsuzsánna Guild. The next plan is to invite the ladies from the Eastern Area for a Guild Social, at which time Rev. Török’s wife Susan will share her observations about the life in Eastern Europe, and show slides which she took. The date for this social is October 23. On October 20 our members will participate on a Bus Trip to Christmas Village, Pennsylvania, sponsored by both our Women’s Guilds. Our World-Wide Communion and the Communion of Thanksgiving for new wine was celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. Our Annual Bazaar will be held in the month of November.
