16 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ POST CONFERENCE LETTERS The past Labor Day weekend will not easily be forgotten. It doesn’t seem like we spent 4 days at Camp Ledgewood, but really a matter of hours, time seemed to pass so quickly. Many memories of this B.Y.F. conference will remain with us for a long time to come: our first look at the camp and the job of carrying our luggage from our busses to the tents; and some of us arriving at 3:00 A.M. Saturday morning and trying to find our tents. Saturday night brought an array of talent to match any Broadway show: “Mrs. Goldfarb’s Real Hungarian Frozen Chicken Paprikas;” “Nagymama’s Pucker LekvárLes Martin and his “ Valerie; ” Doorbell; Youngstown’s candy store; Carteret’s big bad villain with his big black hat; and those Detroit brothers Gary and David in their vogue, surfer beachwear. All are certain to bring back nostalgic laughs. Perhaps the most inspirational part of our weekend was our sunrise communion service. Rain didn’t seem to dampen an indoor football game or the “Sloopy,” which came to be almost synonomous with the social aspects of the weekend. But Monday did come, and much too quickly for most of us. No doubt the hardest part of the weekend was saying good-bye to our old friends NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS BETHLEHEM Our regular Sunday morning schedule: English service at 9:45, Hungarian service at 10 o’clock. Anderson and Evelyn Kathleen Kirkpatrick on October 2nd. phen Szőke’s marvelous talk on Church government really “woke” us up to the responsibilities we have in our own churches. The joyous news of a permanent campsite took the assembly by storm. I just pray that God gives each of us the strength to live up to this breakthrough? ! ? Three cheers for Mr. John B. Farkas for staying on with us. Getting to the lighter side of things, what can I say? The dance Sunday night was too much. The “ Sloopy ” caught on like wild fire. Could you believe it, at one time there were about 65 of us “sloopying”. Yup, five rows of us. “Ain’t that funny?” Of course I must mention the “Warren Street ” and the “ Playboy ” and the “Candy Johnson” and the “Ohio Jerk” and the “CHARDOSH!” Perth Amboy will host the 27th Annual National Conference in 196 6. And believe it, it’s gonna be great! We hope to see a chartered BUS with MICHIGAN plates roll into camp! (Hint, Hint).
