Şirin. The last beyit has the number 6,308. The chapter headings in Persian are in red ink. On the notice page/flyleaf (zahriye), there is an ilâhî; the script on lb is faded due to water damage. It is difficult to read. İskender-nâme j »'•<• -1) (lb) This İskender-name is a mesnevi by the well-known 14 l h c. poet A HMEDÎ (d. 815/1412). AHMEDI'S real name was Taceddin İbrahim b. Hızır. Some sources say he was from Sivas. According to others, he was from Germiyan. The biographical memoirs by L ATÍF Í (d. 990/1582) and  LÎ (d. 1008/1599) mention that he went to Egypt after his first education and completed his studies there, receiving lessons from Şeyh Ekmeleddin. After his return from Egypt, A HMEDÎ joined the Aydınoğlu dynasty (see EI 1.783-784). İt is known that he sympathized with the Ottoman Emir Süleyman and even that he wrote the Mevlid of the İskender-name in Bursa during the time of Emir Süleyman and dedicated most of his works to him.
