14 give an account of the lay-out of the text ; states the material in wich it is done (stylus, ink, lead) ; gives an indication of the usual number of folios in each and that of the quires having a different composition ; are mentioned with their place and their decoration ; are described if they are ancient, even if not contemporary with the manuscript ; are given in a summarized version detailing the scribe's name, the date and the place of execution, as well as the patron s name ; indicates other means by which the scribe denoted his name (decorated words or letters) ; are given in chronological order.
