Kégl Sándor: A perzsa irodalom vonzásában: Válogatott tanulmányok. Szerk. Dévényi Kinga (Budapest Oriental Reprints, Ser. A 9.)

The legacy of Alexander Kégl (1862-1920)

Mention must also be made of the famous Kégl library which comprises approximately 11,000 volumes and had originally been preserved in Kégl's country mansion. After his death, this valuable collection of Oriental manuscripts and lithographs was presented by his brother to the Library of the Hungarian Academy. It still remains one of the most important book donations the library has ever received. The current volume containing a vast selection from his versatile oeuvre is a tribute to this remarkable scholar. 30
