21 Ironworks and folk art So far relatively little attention has been given to iron works from the perspective of folk art. However, the works of blacksmith and locksmith masters were more difficult to fit into this category than for example the pottery products However, products of metal manufacturing, and within that the iron objects were represented in the volumes of the Our Folk Art Heritage series some already published and some to be issued. These volumes focus on the presentation of folk art by county. Partly based on this book series and partly on proprietary research - conducted primarily in Pest county - the study reviews the most important types of iron objects, which were prepared by blacksmith masters, or more rarely by Gypsy blacksmiths, for other craftsmen or for peasant farms and households.
