Ebben a dolgozatomban a Bándi Gábor és a Fekete Mária által 1973 és 1986 között vezetett feltárások leletanyagának a Nagy Marcella általi feldolgozása során talált 13 darab, és a Kern István magángyűjteményébe újabban bekerült egy darab öntőformát közlöm. Ahogy korábban is gondoltam, e megközelítésből (öntőformák száma, típusa) is világos, hogy Velem és Gór nem azonos rangú fémműves központok voltak. Elemzésem azt igazolja, hogy a specialisták településen belüli koncentrált elhelyezésére, „iparos negyed” feltételezésére nincsenek érdemi adataink sem a Szent Vidről, de a Kápolnadombról sem. Jelenleg a késő bronzkori Kárpát-medence 95 lelőhelyről van tudomásom öntőformákról. Az ekkor működő 21 műhely centralizációja más jellegű, mint korábban volt, és ez új helyeken játszódott le. The importance of metalworking at Szent Vid and Gór. I dug up my first mould of the Urnfield period in 1983, from a grave in the Árpád-period cemetery at Mezőlak. Then in summer 1986,1 lit upon the remains of a clay mould from a series of rings in a burial mound at Németbánya. Decisive to me professionally was the discovery in 1988, during the Kápolnadomb dig at Gór, of a group of moulds, including one of a Keftiu miniature. Publishing the finds and workshop at Gór and describing the regional examples of this type of object led directly to a study of mine that appeared in 2006. Vas County has three major metalworking centres of the Urnfield period known today. However, Western Transdanubia represents only one of the power centres. All the moulds ofSág-hegy are sporadic (Lázár 1943). At least some Velem moulds are genuine, while all those from Gór come from identifiable contexts. This paper explores the finds of excavations headed by Gábor Bándi and Mária Fekete in 1933-86. It describes the 13 pieces examined by Marcella Nagy, and the single mould rediscovered in the private collection of István Kern at Velem (Figures 1-4). A total of 33 items were cast from 21 moulds from Gór, representing 12 identifiable types of object. Along with those discussed here, I know of altogether 89 moulds from Szent Vid/Velem. From these a total of 103 objects were cast, belonging to 36 identifiable types (see Table 1). As for types, three times as many were cast at Velem as at Gór. The far greater range ofshapes and types made in raw material from Velem (e. g. ingots, rings of Csok and Keftiu) suggests that the artisans of the hillside were acting also as “village smiths” for communities in the neighbourhood or area of control. From the mould associable with the tools of the metalworkers (Table 1) it is clear that the group includes one type of object from Gór, but four from Velem. It is worth noting in relation to the moulds that no knives, sickles or swords can be linked with Kápolnadomb, but all can be found at Szent Vid. On the other hand, Gór and Velem have both yielded headed axes with the same type of decoration. The 1933-86 digs by Bándi and Fekete were carried out in patches, not one contiguous area. Their reports and the reviews by Marcella Nagy in 1933-39 deal with 33 sections totalling 4300 m2, covering the topographical positions ofn moulds (Figure 3), and with the one from the Kern collection.
