THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONSEQUENCES OF COAL MINING IN NÓGRÁDVERŐCE (VERŐCE)

The purpose of the historical ecology was put into words by Ágnes R. Várkonyi as „reconstructing the thousand years old interactions between human and nature”. Nearly two and a half centuries ago in the vicinity of Nógrádverőcean interaction started between the special members of the society and the inert raw material, which was fulfilled in the coal-mining. For this reason changes took place in the environment, which has visible signs today (subsidence, reopening etc.) but we would not be able to interpret them correctly without the acquaintance of the coal-mining of the area.
