Régészettudomány Jacqueline S . MEIER APPENDIX II. - Bronze Age worked animal bones from ZagyvapálfalvaHomokbánya (Northern Hungary) The following faunal list is the result of the preliminary study of the 92 pieces of worked bone from the site of Zagyvapálfalva-Homokbánya and 58 specimens from the neighboring contemporaneous site of Kisterenye-Hársas. Typological names that imply function were avoided as further study of these artifacts will include use wear analysis with the goal of more accurately describing potential use. Where possible, species were identified, but sometimes only the general size of the animal could be stated with accuracy. The list is divided into broad categories based on the location of wear and possible functional use and will be Cattle Caprine Pig Dog Red deer horn core 5 3 ri b 10 3 radius 1 1 further divided based on comparison with similar studies of Hungarian bone tools of the same time period. Future studies may include a comparison of this set of artifacts with evidence of other industries at the site level in order to further explore the crafting of bone tools within the greater cultural context.
