Historic Outlines of the Outskirts of Besenyszög from the Hungarian Conquest to the Days of the Turkish Rule

Miksa király a Morék Balaszentmiklós, Kispó, Nagypó, Szenttamás, Balaszeg, Fokorú, Szentiván, Alcsi, Tenyő Heves és Szolnok megyei birtokait, mik Pöstényi Gergely özvegye - most Révai Ferencné - Paksi Anna birtokába jutottak, eladományozta. Azok elfoglalásától Mágócsi Gáspárt, csömöri Zay Ferenc kassai kapitányt, szebeni Liszthy Jánost és Wiczmándy Mátyást eltiltotta. 44 A hódítás jelentékeny pusztítással járt. Az 1552-es hadjárat nyomán átmenetileg számos falu elnéptelenedett, és az elmenekülő lakosság csak lassan tért vissza. Utóbb azonban a közösségek újraszerveződtek, gyarapodtak, sőt a század végéig talán még a népesség is növekedett. Az igazi katasztrófa a tizenötéves háború idején következett be. Szinte minden település elnéptelenedett, bár ez önmagában még nem jelentette a lakosság pusztulását is. GÁBOR BAGI HISTORIC OUTLINES OF THE OUTSKIRTS OF BESENYSZÖG FROM THE HUNGÁRIÁN CONQUEST TO THE DAYS OF THE TURKISH RULE Besenyszög lies on the right side of River Tisza in county Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, north of Szolnok, the shire-town. The present settlement had förmed by 1774 on both side of Miller. Its 24015 kh outskirts unified several deserted villages. After the Hungárián conquest the nearby Szolnok crossing place over the River Tisza took effect on the district. According to the archaeological findings the region might be densely populated, by the time of organization of the state the River Zagyva became the bordér of the county between county Heves in the north and county Szolnok in the south. These appeared in the sources after 1241, the Tartar devastations. Before 1245 Dóba, one of the villages of this place had in Hontpázmán family's possession, but one of the members of the family donated his local chattels to the monastery of Ság founded by himself. In the 13rd century Fokuru appeared as the possession of the Kökényesradnót family, its following proprietors were the Szécsényis. They got hold of the several villages of the district such as Alcsi, Kölkes, Szentivány, Szabolcs, Szászberek. These properties belonged to the family's Hollókő domain (county Nógrád). With the death of Szécsényi László the family died out and the estates went over intő the Losoncis' and the Országhs' proprietorship. They frequently leased out there estates of this plase. At the beginning of the 16th century the villages went over intő the Móré family's hands, who organized a smaller domain, its centre was Balaszentmiklós (today Törökszentmiklós), on the opposite bank of the Tisza. Around the outskirts beside the Hungarians settled Orientál people (Pechenegs, Jazygians) appeared. Peopling of several occasionally mentioned villages and wastes might be associated with them. These were Bezetelek, Homor, Szeg. Unfortunately only historical datas of possession remained, so only few datas on population, husbandry and everyday life survived. The fact that the outskirts united in one proprietary family's hand helped early the massing of the population and moving to bigger places. This process was broken by the Turkish rule, and the result of the liberation struggles at the end of the 17th century was the desolation of all the villages.
