THE SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF THE EGER ASSEMBLY DURING THE DUALISM

My paper examines the local impact of the 19th century’s dominant political trend, which brought about the significant fluctuation of those in elite positions, generated by the widening and expansion of political positions. I intend to explore the rate of this fluctuation among the members of the Eger Assembly during the era of dualism. I also look at what role the age and place of birth of the representatives might have had in securing election to the assembly and whether these factors also influenced the rate of fluctuation. Simultaneously, my study also discusses the changes in the social status of the various groups and the changes in the stability of individual positions.
