analogy can also be applied in field of arts. The birth of „great” works is preceded by long experimentation influenced by the conditions of creation, the level of the system of means in a decisive way. b. Creation of progressive works of art Without the conditions of the artists’ symposia no works or techniques of art could have been created that have become or will become starting points of new styles, trends or paradigms of art. The media applicable here mean technological possililities that are otherwise inaccessible to the creators which can get available in a „creator-fiendly” way, in a collective milieu on top of that. c. Participation in tertiary education of fine and applied art The special milieu of the artists’ symposia organically completes the functioning system of tertiary education of art. It affords chance of a direct contact of masters and pupils, unrealizable in Hungarian and European tertiary education of art, recalling the atmosphere and efficiency of Renaissance workshops. Here it is possible to organize international master courses, even for the career starters to create real works, to study directly the technical and aesthetic accomplishments of media of art through the collections. d. Keeping Hungarian artistic world going The development of international relations is part of cultural continuity, the national cultural heritage. The artists’ symposia are natural scenes of Hungarian and international interactions. The continuous meetings give the most important infrastructural background of the exchange of direct professional experiences, formation of personal professional and human relations. The network of artists' symposia is also a basis of the professional integration of Hungarian colleagues beyond the frontier. III. According to the long-term strategy of the situation and future of objectmaking fine and applied art, the cultural government must draw up a partly normative, partly programmatic construction of financing which on the one hand supports the expenses of renovation, maintenance, development of the operation of the network and the permanent personal ones, on the other affords possiblity of financing programmes and symposia, technological development in a special competition system. We think it possible to realize this in the following forms: a. In the budget of the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage an estimate must be drawn up that supports the renovation and development of real estates, resources and collections and is accessible to the proprietors and local governments on presentation of own risk, in the way of competition. 335
