OF THE HUNGARIAN NATURAL HISTORICAL MUSEUM

From the objects of Flóris Rómer’s scientific collections only his herbarium pages could be found up till now in the different public collections. The Historical Collection of the Hungarian Natural Historical Museum keeps 190 herbarium pages originating from Römer. Their study, statistical analyses and scientific evaluation help to unfold the working method of their collector. The pages preserved plants collected between July 1843 and July 1848 from the Bakony Mountains, the High Tatra Mountains and the area of Győr, Moson, Sopron and Pozsony Counties, and they include several species which have disappeared from their original habitats since than.
