Ágnes Ászt: The Possibilities of Communication in a Museum and Examples for Its Realisation in a „Small Museum" In 2002 three exhibitions were organised by the Archaeological Collection of the Hanság Museum, and contributed to a fourth one. The experiences of these exhibitions are summarised in this article. Our first exhibition was attached to a national exhibition devoted to the creation of museology in Hungary. During „The Exhibition of the Garden of Muses," in harmony with the theme and principles of the exhibition, we strove to give an essential cross-section of our collections existing from the 19th century and to display the representative items of our collections (e.g., the fibula with runic letters from Bezenye). Our second exhibition was attached to the cultural programme in Óvár, namely the Castle Tournament in the summer. This transferred exhibition attracted a great number of visitors proving that certain programmes - especially in regions of poorer possibilities for transportation - require the Museum to step beyond the confinement of its quarters. Our third exhibition was a temporary exhibition of half a year with the title „Morsels and Grains of Sand" which demonstrated the results of our archaeological excavation of the near past through experimental indoor spaces and tangible objects, and we presented the everyday difficulties which overshadow the conflicts between great investments and archaeological excavations. We made it apparent that economic necessities and the protection of our cultural heritage are not opposed, but they can be reasonably co-ordinated and they should be co-ordinated. The last exhibition was organised by the Association of the Friends of Museums backed up by our collection providing assistance in tasks of museology. 340
