RESUME 445 Lázár introduces his career in a comprehensive article illustrated with reproductions in Művészet. The winter exhibition of the Art Gallery introduces Chest with Tulips, (cat. 48) > Woman in Interior in front of a Yellow Curtain (cat. 32); Lying Model (cat. 34); Peasant Girl (cat. 52); Resting Socac (cat. 53); Züzü in the Stroller (Züzü in the Cradle, Züzü in the Little Stroller, cat. 68); Bathing Women (cat. 121) 1911 He participates in an international exhibition in Rome with a more extensive collection, where Thamar (VI 1.9) is purchased by the Italian State for the Galleria Moderna in Rome. The Italian Minister of Edu­cation invites Csók to paint something for the self-portrait collection in the Uffizzi Gallery. He works on landscapes and beach scenes in Balatonaliga and in Lido, Venice.The portrait of Tibor Wlassics (1.25), which is introduced at the jubilee exhibition of the Society of Fine Arts, receives the grand state gold medal. He and his family relocate to a flat at 52 Damjanich Street, in the 7th district, close to the City Park. The Modern Magyar Képtár, edited by Miklós Rózsa, brings out the lino-cut adaption of Socac Funeral. His wife and daughter spend a month at the grandparents'in Római Fürdő. He displays his self-portrait, painted for the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, in the Ernst Museum in the autumn. (IV.58) He participates in the Autumn Salon in Paris. He continues the Lidó and Züzü-period. His Corner of the Atelier wins the grand gold medal at the international exhi­bition in Amsterdam. > Self-portrait, draft (cat. 1 ); Still-life with a Chinese Sculpture (cat. 42); Züzü with the Rooster (Züzü and Koko, Züzü and Coco, cat. 71 ); Sea Beach (cat. 124) 1913 He is present at the dedication of the Art House Palace. Corner of theAtelieris displayed in the international exhibition of Glaspalastt in Munich after Paris and Amsterdam. He spends the summer in Balatonaliga with his family; later, he follows his wife and daughter to Római Fürdő where he stays for a few weeks. > Breakfast Table (Flower and Fruit, cat. 97); Winter in Spring (cat. 101); Gellért ff ilI in Winter (cat. 102) 1914 His retrospective exhibition, celebrating his 25-year-long career, opens on February 18th in the Art Gallery, where 142 works are dis­played in 8 rooms. Arsène Alexandre, arts writer and critic for the renowned L'Événement and the Le Figaro, writes the introduction to the richly illustrated catalogue. His painting is analyzed and praised at great length by all significant papers. Two Idols (IV.59) appears at the exhibition of the Art House in Vienna and other works are displayed in the 11th Venice Biennale. > Thamar (cat. 21 ); Little Buddha Statuette (Chinese Doll, cat. 40); Züzü under the Christmas Tree (cat. 73); Resting Züzü (cat. 75) 1915 He shows the first series of the Lake Balaton pictures at the group exhibition of Ernst Museum. He spends the summer with his family in Balatonaliga. He wins a gold medal at the World Expo in San Francisco. > Züzü is dancing (cat. 77) 1916 He has an exhibition together with József Rippl-Rónai and Gyula Kosztolányi-Kann in Nagyvárad. > Merry-making Company with a Peacock (cat. 94); Bathing Woman (cat. 114) 1917 He lives in the Hunfalvy House, located on the hillside of the castle close to his secondary school, from August until 1921 .The flat's rose garden and its view of the Danube inspire numerous pictures. Heap­­pears with a larger collection of his new works in the Ernst Museum. In addition to his Balaton pictures, he begins varying his themes. > Erzsébet Báthory, draft (cat. 15); Züzü in the Bower (Züzü on the Island, cat. 78); Woman in Yellow Gown (cat. 99) 1918 He displays a dozen pictures, including landscapes, Thamar and Susanna variations, in the Ernst Museum. The first version of his memorials appears in ffungarians. > Thamar (cat. 20); Züzü at the Window (Züzü is learning, Spring in Winter, cat. 82); Outlook out of the Roses (cat. 96) 1919 He is appointed to a professorship of figure drawing alongside Mi­hály Bíró and Bertalan Pór by the Art Directorate of the Hungarian Soviet Republic. When Gyula Peidl’s government comes to power he resigns and returns his salary. 1920 Károly Lyka invites him to become a professor of figure drawing and painting in the College of Fine Arts.
