Guide to the DVD-ROM

Guide to the DVD-ROM 471 & Hyperlink. Enables viewing of non-map files r associated with the map elements (photos of features and graves, drawings, grave descrip­tions). After enabling, the cursor turns into a light­ning and each feature with associated files appears in dark blue. Pointing the cursor to the blue dots will activate a small window listing the associated file(s). Clicking the requested file will open it in the appro­priate application. These buttons are toggle buttons and remain en­abled after clicking them. They can only be disabled by activating another toggle button. The left bar contains the contents window and the map window beside it. Contents window The Contents contains the map layers of the project. Individual map layers are superimposed over each other. The map shows the uppermost layer of the layers in a particular area. The (closed) and ~~ (open) box beside the layer show whether a layer is visible or not. The key becomes visible if the layer is opened. Layers with an asterisk (*) denote group layers which contain additional layers. The box next to the layer's name ( IS 1^] or | ) indicates whether a layer is visible or not. Only the layers checked in the box will appear on the map. The lower information bar shows the EOV co-ordinates of the mouse if it is poisitoned in the map window and a short description of the tool to which the mouse is pointed. Querying and searching data The information in the database can be accessed by two means: A •• 1. By clicking the Find w icon in the toolbar. 2.
