A pécsi-ba! ip.yai imi vumok egy évszázada A Century of the Pécs-Baranya Museums formájában. A Baranya Megyei Múzeumok Igazgatósága a rendszerváltást követően az érvényes törvények - 1990. évi LXV. Te. és az 1997. évi CXL. Te. 2001. évi LXIV. Te. alapján - a Baranya Megyei Önkormányzat Közgyűlésének (a továbbiakban Önkormányzat) 141/1998. (VI. 29.) határozatával jóváhagyott Alapító Okirata szerint végzi munkáját. A Megyei Múzeum feladata, hogy Baranya megye közigazgatási határain belül az öt szakmai osztályhoz tartozó terület Természettudományi, Régészeti, Képző- és Iparművészeti, Néprajzi, Új- és Legújabb kori Történeti osztály és a magyarországi déli szlávok (horvátok, szerbek, szlovének) tárgyi és szellemi kultúrájának intézménye, a Kanizsai Dorottya Múzeum (Mohács) keretében végezze tevékenységét. Mindez az Igazgatóság és a Gazdasági Ellátó Részleg irányítói, koordinátori munkájával valósul meg. A múzeum a hozzá tartozó gyűjtemények nagyságrendje és kiállításainak száma alapján Magyarország legnagyobb múzeumi szervezetei közé tartozik. A közel 800 ezres darabszámú gyüjteményegyüttes hazai és sok vonatkozásban nemzetközi viszonylatban is meghatározó szerepet játszik. A vizsgált időszakban a múzeum tevékenységét alapvetően a fenntartó Önkormányzat költségvetési támogatása tette lehetővé, kiegészítve a múzeum saját bevételeivel, valamint a különböző pályázati lehetőségek, támogatások és a hatósági feladatellátás kötelezettségéből adódó anyagi forrásokkal. Az utóbbiak aránya fokozatosan növekszik az intézmény költségvetésében. Az elmúlt évtized során a múzeumok helyzete, így a pécsi-baranyai múzeumoké is jelentősen megváltozott, historian and museologist Zoltán Huszár was elected director of the county museum directorate by the Baranya County Council Assembly, and his mandate extended another five years in 2003. The two-hundred year-old Hungarian museum concern and the 100-year-old Baranya museums had to face new challenges. However, the professional aim, as it was with our forebears, remained unaltered: to collect, preserve and process the material world of past ages and to make it available to society at large through exhibitions and catalogues, museum guides and most recently multimedia. Since the political changes the Baranya County Museums Directorate has carried out its work according to the Founding Certificate 141/1998 (VI. 29) passed by the Baranya County Council Assembly (henceforth Council) on the basis of the valid Acts Year 1990, Statute LXV, Year 1997 Statute CXL, Year 2001 Statute LXIV) The task of the County Museum is to carry out activities within the administrative borders of the county of Baranya within the fields of its five professional sections Natural History, Archaeology, Fine and Applied Arts, Ethnography and Modern and Contemporary History and as the institute of the material and spiritual culture of Hungary's Southern Slavs (Croatians, Serbians and Slovenes), within the framework of the Dorottya Kanizsai Museum (Mohács). All of this should occur through the direction and coordination of the Directorate and the Department for Economic Supply. On the basis of the number of collections and exhibitions belonging to it, the museum is one of the largest museum organisations in Hungary.
