SOME ARCHAEOLOGICAL FINDS OF THE AVAR PERIOD IN COUNTY BARANYA KISS ATTILA The unpublished Avar period Finds which had come to light on the territory of the present County Baranya by 1969 were published by the author, except for the finds now being worked on by the excavators, in the second volume of the series „Cemeteries of the Avar Period (567—829) in Hungary." 1 Our present publication deals with the material from nine sites dated to the 6th —9th centuries (Fig. 1—2.) Two of these sites (Mohács 1949 and 1960) were omitted in the above mentioned work; the excavation records on Majs (1966) represent a part of the material left behind L. Papp ; the are sites on wiche rescue excavation were carried out by the author between 1969 and 1973; the Dunaszekcső finds were purchesed by the Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum (Hungarian National Museum). Because of their importance for history of the settlement in County Baranya all these finds will hopefully be publisched here. 2 1. BAKÓCA (?)
