Tóth Krisztina: Ferences rendi prokurátorok és a magyar ferences rendtartományok az 1920-as évek fordulóján

KRISZTINA T ÓTH FRANCISCAN PROCURATOR GENERALS AND THE HUNGARIAN FRANCISCAN PROVINCES AT THE TURN OF THE 1920S The study examines the activity of the procurator generals of the Minor Friars in favour of the Marian and Capistrano Provinces in the years following World War I. The author conducted basic research to reveal the relating sources in Budapest in the Hungarian Franciscan Archives and in Rome in the Archivio Storico Generale dell’Ordine dei Frati Minori. On the basis of the correspondence between the procurators and the provincials the paper presents the state of the Hungarian Franciscan provinces after the world war, the course of their dismemberment, then discusses their problems and activities that needed intervention at the dicasteries of the Holy See. The study reveals the background of the augmented number of Franciscans who requested indult of secularization, points out the peculiarities of the management of money and the financial state of the Order after the war. The author also touches upon Franciscan pastoral care, their participation in organiz­ing the vacation of children to the Netherlands, and that a Franciscan became the military vicar of the national army.
