1921 35 No. 33. 226/pol. The Representative of the Hungarian Government in Paris, Mr. Praznovszky, to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Count Teleki. Mr. Halmos reports:

1 "My conversation are going on very favourably, the President will receive me to-morrow afternoon. I would ask Your Excellency to omit the insertion contained in code telegram No. 14,

2 or rather to authorise Mr. Praznovszky to do so. I think it would spoil the effect of the note

3 which until now appeared excellent upon the confidants of Mr. Millerand. Now is the most opportune time for solving matters of principle in the territorial question because at present we are opposed to the Austrians, that is to Germans, and in this situation we can count upon some goodwill."

Je viens de recevoir Note de la Conférence des Ambassadeurs invitant Gouvernement hongrois à entamer dès à présent négociations avec la Yougoslavie rendant possible l'évacuation de la région de Szeged

5 dès l'entrée en vigueur du traité Trianon. L'occupation jusqu'ici maintenue doit être attribuée au souci du Gouvernement yougoslave de s'assurer le contrôle des chemins de fer reliant territoires serbes de part et d'autre de la Theiss. Une proposition semblable est faite par la Conférence au Gouvernement yougoslave. Copie Note par prochain courrier.
