Résumé The History of the Hungarian Embassy in Vienna between the Two World Wars During the autumn of 1918, the Hungarian state was in a very serious situation. It had to get fit into the new Europe while it did not even have an independent foreign management. Since 1526, the majority - later all - of the Hungarians had lived in the Habsburg Empire. The Treaty of Trianon was signed on 4 June 1920, therefore they could start building up the Hungarian missions and embassies only afterwards. But the Hungarian representation in Vienna - obviously - could already be born in the autumn of 1918. This study presents the life, work and personal relations of this mission until the Anschluss in 1938. The author shows the deeper social and the broader international contexts as well. 68 Külügyi Szemle
