MICHAEL S. JUHASZ DONATES VALUABLE CIMBALOM TO THE "FREE HUNGARIAN EMBASSY" Gift a Major Contribution to the Newly Formed Hungarian Cultural Society of Washington WASHINGTON, D.C. - At a special ceremony held recently at the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary, Michael S. Juhasz of Vienna, Virginia, presented to His Excellency Peter Zwack, the new Hungarian Ambassador to the United States of America, a valuable cimbalom as his personal contribution to the newly formed, Hungarian Cultural Society of Washington. Also attending the presentation were Mrs. Peter Zwack, Mrs. Michael S. Juhasz, and others. had cut a tape with the renowned Cimbalomist, Janos Hosszú asked him whether he would be interested in buying it, because he had become too old to perform anymore in public. Mr. Juhasz did purchase the valuable Hungarian musical instrument and, when Cecilia Bros, who spearheaded the formation of the Hungarian Cultural Society of Washington, suggested that he donate his acquisition to the Embassy, Mr. Juhasz agreed. The "Bohak" cimbalom was once Janos Hosszu's, who performed on it with many famous orchestras as Guest Soloist, especially when "Harry Janos" was being presented before "Standing Room Only" audiences. After Mr. Juhasz Michael S. Juhasz is now a Founding Member of the new Hungarian Cultural Society of Washington, and has also received a formal letter of acknowledgement of his contribution from His Excellency Peter Zwack. It has also made its facilities available for numerous educational, cultural, and social programs, which has made the club known statewide as the athletic, educational, cultural, and social center for the Hungarian community.
