140 HIDROLÓGIAI KÖZLÖNY 2005. 85. ÉVF. 6. SZ. Data to the work of the water quality from chemical and biological aspect on the example of the main canal-Lónyayfőcsatorna basin Takács P., Lukács B. A., Wittner I., VadnayÁ\ Szilágyint Puskás E., Vadnayné Bogár É., Bárkányi M Abstract: In 2004 a comprehensive hidrobiological research had been held on the catchment area of the Main-Canal-Lónyai-föcsatoma, that is situated in the Nyírség region of East Hungary. Three kinds of surveys on small watercourses were canied out including the examination of hydrochemical components, a hydrobotanical survey and a fishfaunistical research. Results of the hydrochemical and hydrobotanical surveys indicate a close to natural state of the small watercourses situated in the basin of the Main-Canal-Lónyay(öcsatorna In contrast, fishfaunistical reserach shows fish stocks living in small watercourses of this area are more or less degradated. The failure of fishstocks manifests in the high ratio of non native species and low numbers of protected and „sensitive" species. Keywords: small watercourses, hydrochemics, hydrobotanics, fishfaunistics (Kiossy Irén alkotása)
