375 A P. choreus évi két balatoni generációja más vizekkel összevetve tipikusnak tekinthető (Parikratova, 1977), bár egyes vizekben négy generációja is lehet évente (Prat és Rieradevall, 1995). Eredményeink egybevágnak Dévai (1988) keszthelyi vizsgálatainak eredményeivel, amennyiben Dévai a Procladius bábbőrök előfordulásának évi két maximumát tapasztalta, május végétől június közepéig és augusztusban. Abstract: During the last four year study twenty benthic chironomid taxa were found in Laké Balaton of which only three, Chironous, Procladius choreus and Tanypus punctipennis were signifícant in the totál production. After the very high benthic biomass in 1995, a very low chironomid production was detected in 1996-1998 due to the strongly decreased pnmary production. In abundance P. choreus dominated the entire laké in 1996-1998 and at somé parts of the laké its dominance was clear even by production. The population of P. choreus in Laké Balaton stands of two parallel developing cohorts which have two generations per year. In the present study the spatial distribution, the population dynamics and the production of P. choreus in Laké Balaton are discussed.
