3. szám - Hegedűs János: A Duna-víz genotoxikus hatásának kimutatása Drosophila mozaik teszttel
182 methods available for such examinations are unsuited to routine surveys. Since the development of tumors ean be traeed baek to mutations, the mutagenic tests suited to detecting mutations may replace those used for demonstrál ing caneerigenous effeets. In view of the correlation existing between the carcinogenous and mutagenic effeets, any environmental factor found mutagenic can be classified vvith a higli level of probability as careinogeous as well. The genotoxic effect of Danubee vvate was studied by the Drosophila test. The method — sarnpling, processing, culture, perrormance of the test — adopted for demonstrating the genotoxic properties is deseribed and the results are analysed. At each sarnpling point the 2.5—4.01 samples of Danube water proved positive, i. e. contained genotoxic, mutagenie/carcinegenus substance.
