The name and address of the Institute: Faculty of the University of Horticulture. Gyöngyös Mátrai u. 36. Director: Prof. Miklós HODÁSZY. Agrarian production engineers on the field of viticulture, vegetable- and plant production learn at the Institute. The number of students: 320. The training time lasts 3 years, of which 40 % is devoted to theoretical education and 60 % to practical training on the field. iBeyond the complusory basic and supplementary subjects and professional training, the students study chemics, biology, plant protection, geodesy, agriculture, water management. Those who having passed the maturity examination can attend the Faculty. The graduated students — according to their special field —• beyond the direct management of production — under the guidance of energineers can fulfil duties related to technological planning, labour organization, processing and marketing too. In pa­rallel with the regular formation of students there is also a corres­pondence course. The duty of the Institute is also a continuous ex­tension-training for experts from producing enterprises, plants. The new building of the Institute was established in 1972. Its invest­ment costs amounted to 70 million forints. Beyond the lecture fooms, laboratories, drill hall, library a practice area for viticulture and for vegetable-growing1, experimental farm for viticulture and a machnine and equipment park are available for training. A youth hostel and a canteen are belonging to the building of the Institute. ft ----------------
