The letter’ s signatories stress that árrést makes a mockery of the spi­rit of openness and demand his release. By sending a common letter from Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Poland they want to point out the similarities of the endeavours and situations of these three countries. The protest was signed by Miklós Haraszti, János Kis, Ferenc Miszlivetz (Hungary), Petr Pospichal, Dr. Jaroslav Sabata, Jan Urban (Czechoslovakia), Jacek KuroA, Jan Jozef Lipski and Józef Pinior (Poland).
