On their recent exhibition opened on the 24th of May, Sunday 5pm, the grotesque pictures taking off Stalin and the Stalinist éra of two Russian artists immigrated to the USA, Vitaliy Komar and Alexander Melamid, has been displayed under the titles "Stalin and the Muses" and "Stalin and priváté life".Opening speeches were delivered by Gábor Zrinyifalvi and Tamás Mikes. The two artists living in New York had highly successful exhibitions in Oxford and Paris, while at present they are preparing another one in Germany. Komar and Melamid were only subsequently informed about their exhibition in Budapest (the INCONNU group used enlarged pages of the catalogue of their Oxford exhibition), they sent their acknowledgement to their Hungárián fellow-artists and announced their hope in the coming of a time, when the oppositional artists of the present day will be able to be simply artists and work free in their own country.
