The beak is small and erect. There are two short beak ridges on the pedicle valve. The lateral commissures and the anterior commissure are straight. The shell surface is punctate, bearing some growth lines. Internal characters: There were no adequate specimens available for serial sectioning due to the paucity of the material. Remarks: Lobothyris punctata shows significant intraspecific variation, a number of subspecies has been distinguished. Geyer (1889) listed 11 varieties. In our case the small specimen number and the poor preservation render the subspecific identification impossible. Recently Ager (1990) dealt with British Liassic Terebratulida. In his opinion L. punctata occurs only in the Pliensbachian of Britain, earlier Lobothyris was represented by other species. The fauna of Lókút Hill is Material: 2 complete specimens. Dimensions (mm): Specimen M.91.22. (Text-fig. 23) length: 14.7, width: 14.3, thickness: 6.3. Text-fig. 23 - Drawing of Lobothyris punctata Description - External characters: Medium-sized shell, circular in outline. The length and the width are nearly equal, the thickness is smaller than half of the length. The angle between the lateral margins is about 100°. Biconvex form, the pedicle valve is more convex than the brachial one. The maximum width
